Threshold

A threshold can be a beginning point. When I painted this picture, I didn’t know what would happen. My daughter had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. I can’t describe how extremely difficult it was for our family at that time. I threw away many sketches and paintings, I cleaned my studio and I played with paint and I made marks. This was one of my marks that I kept. I gave it this title right away. Although I was unsure of the way, I knew in my heart that there was hope for the future and we would make it across the threshold. This was the beginning.
