Moonlight on the Old Skating Pond

Amongst the colours and light which reflect off of the ice and snow there stands a lone tree. With it's branches like open arms, it beckons us to dance and skate upon the ice before it, or to gather around it's roots for stories of winter magic.
Every Christmas, I paint a special tree and put it on a brass easel in my living room to use as our Christmas tree, rather than cutting down a real tree. Any presents that we are fortunate to give or receive our placed around the easel. This has become a family tradition.
