In the Chine

This was inspired by the Shanklin Chine, Isle of Wight and consists of 2 paintings side by side. A chine is a deep narrow gorge leading to the ocean that is lush with subtropical growth reminiscent of a rain forest. If I hadn't been told about it, I would never have imagined it there. I walked down many steps to the ocean and crossed the stone bridge every day while I was there. The unique tranquillity of the gorge with its enchanting water and natural beauty made it a magical place.
