Les Artichauds

Artichokes have a beautiful flower when they are allowed to flower. The French farmer was puzzled that I liked them even though I couldn't eat them. In his eyes, once they blossomed they were inedible and hence useless. My fascination with the purple blossoms made him look at them again. He picked a bouquet for me to take back to the studio.
